Opto-Edu (Beijing) Co. Ltd., a world leader in precision optics, today formally launched its new laser scanning confocal microscope, the A64.1020. A high-speed resonant scanning engine, a fully apochromatic (APO) optical system, and a fully automated intelligent platform, supports multimodal imaging including brightfield (BF), phase contrast (PH), polarized light (PL), fluorescence (FL), differential interference contrast (DIC) and Hoffman modulation contrast.
From objective switching and laser power to Z-stack and multipoint imaging, the A64.1020 automatically runs the entire experiments. Automatically finds the optimal focal plane within 3 seconds; smart spectral unmixing automatically masks overlapping fluorescence signals, which greatly improves the data quality for multilabel samples. The user simply set experimental parameters through the 10.1 inch touchscreen or PC computer program to start with untended long term observation.
A single platform integrates six imaging modalities:
High-speed resonant scanning enables continuous recording of synchronous firing activity across hundreds of synapses within neuronal networks. Combined with optogenetic stimulation, it facilitates decoding of dynamic information processing in brain circuits.
The 25 mm wide field of view paired with automated Z-stack acquisition supports 48-hour continuous tracking of model organisms such as zebrafish and murine embryos, generating high spatiotemporal resolution developmental atlases.
Automatic multiwell plate recognition and multipoint imaging enable high throughput efficacy assessment in 96/384-well plate, along with an online monitoring of apoptosis, mitochondrial membrane changes, pharmacodynamic indicators.
Instriptolor immunofluorescence 3D reconstruction of tumor tissue sections allows for accurate measurement of the immune cell infiltration density and spatial position in the tumor microenvironment, which is important for precision oncology.
Designed using ultra-low expansion microcrystalline glass, which are tested in 72-hour thermal cycling tests for long-term optical path stability, and Lasers provide 2000 hours of lifetime, with reduced maintenance cost.
Three-year global warranty with 7*24-hour remote technical support. Application demonstration centers in China, North America, and Europe offer complimentary demo units and experimental protocol optimization services.
Leveraging Opto-Edu's 25 years of optical engineering expertise, the A64-1020 delivers core performance comparable to premium international brands at a significantly more accessible price point—making advanced confocal imaging capabilities attainable for university core facilities, regional medical centers, and small-to-midsize biotechnology enterprises.
